Loose jumping and auction at the same time. The basic idea of Belgian Youngsters Auction, but to the fourth edition coming Saturday 16 March yet another element is added. “To sell young jumping horses from families of which we also offer foals and embryos via Flanders Foal Auction”, Luk Van Puymbroeck explains, who is part of the organization of both auctions.
A lot of effort was given to the selections of the previous three editions of Belgian Youngsters Auction. The good prices and international interest have made that the sellers now confidently offer their best youngsters. “The aim, to offer talented showjumping horses from proven families, has now been reached. The collection is a great deal stronger on all fronts than that of our first edition. We are confidently looking forward to the auction evening”, says Luk Van Puymbroeck, also on behalf of co-organizers Valentijn De Bock and Nicolas and Daniel Boudrenghien.
The Belgian Youngsters Auction will take place on 16 March after the always well-visited loose jumping competition of ‘BWP Regio St.Niklaas’. The start is at 8.00PM CET and the place is Stal De Kriekelaar in Meerdonk. “Yes, loose jumping is still terribly popular. It is so very telling. If they like jumping, their intelligence, technique, scope, carefulness and balance in canter. As they perform in loose jumping, they almost always do it the same way under saddle. I would not buy a youngster without having seen it in loose jumping.”
The loose jumping competition itself already generates trade. “Understandably, since this is the best breeding region in Belgium. At no more than five kilometers distance you find the studfarms of De Muze, Roosakker, Van ’t Ruytershof, Meulenhof and ’t Eigenlo. Also for that reason we managed to get a very strong auction collection together. There are some above average horses among them, real cracks, which you would not normally see at an auction. I myself am very fond of the mares by Diamant de Semilly and Check In, horses with exceptional qualities.”
The collection also contains an Oldenburg-International licensed stallion: Chacasall VDH Z (Chacco Blue x Cormint) out of the half-sister of Casall.
The auction already opens online on Wednesday 13 March, which is when the first bids can be made. On the auction evening itself bids can be made online, live and by telephone.
